On completion of each series, we award championship points to the leading competitors, and at the end of the year the one with the highest total point count is the champion.
The scale of points to be earned depends on whether a series rates as major or minor: a major series is one in which at least six races have actually been sailed,
and there are at least eight regular competitors (sailing in 30% of the races, or more); a minor series (marked with **) is one with three to five races sailed.
For major series, the scale of points for the overall championship is 25/18/15/12/10/8/6/4/2/1; for minor series it is 12/9/7/6/5/4/3/2/1
In the event of a tie on total scores, we use the tie-break procedure of the Racing Rules of Sailing:
First we compare the individual series scores, starting with each boat's best and working down to the worst, until we find a difference.
If the tie is still not resolved, we compare the individual series scores again, this time starting with the most recent series, and working backwards, until we find a difference.
Please note that some boats' PY ratings have changed during the year. If a figure is shown, it is the one that applied when the individual boat first scored points.
